How long does it normally take from the time someone starts their bowling career to bowl a 300 game?
That all depends on the individual.
If that is what you have in mind then the first thing you need to do is get a qualified instructor.
He or she will go through the proper ways of stance, ball grip, which ball to use, the weight of the ball, and anything else needed to get you on the "right" track.
From there it’s up to you to join as many Bowling Leagues as your finances will allow.
Of course you can practice all you want and may indeed roll a 300 while in practice.
But that will mean it will "not" be recognized by the Bowling Congress. That will be a personal thing and to you that is a great achievement as it should be.
Only League 300’s are recognized by the Bowling Hall-of-Fame, etc.
I read about a man rolling a 300 while in his 90’s. It was his first and only.
Then a read where a teenager has rolled two perfect games.
So you see it all depends on how fast you learn the basics and proper disciplines. And of course the more you bowl the sooner it will happen.
I asked Ray Holmes how many 300’s he had and he said 27.
His son Dave, said he his dad rolled 102. But only 27 are recognized. The other 75 were in practice.
It’s all up to you.
Good luck.

I’m a wanna be novelist and have lots of potential. I’m also a trained nurse. Right now I would like to start earning some money to help with our finances and would love to be able to do freelance writing but haven’t a clue where to begin.
I have written 3 unedited novels and I’m busy working to get the first one completed but time is limited with a 16 month old daughter. I need to earn a small income just to help ease my financial strain and would like to do this by writing for publication. Any help of where to start in this industry would be most appreciated.
Thanx in advance.
Dawn.
I am a published freelance writer. I got into this field by joining the Writer’s Bureau. This is an excellent programme with great tutors who will assist you in polishing your writing for any genre you choose. Categories include non-fiction books or articles, short story fiction or novels, poetry, children’s books etc etc. Many successful writers have started their careers this way.
Also, you should subscribe to Freelance Market News (you get a discount through the Writer’s Bureau), as the information contained in their newsletters is invaluable at cracking into new markets.

Other books I recommend are The Writer’s and Artist’s Yearbook, and The Writer’s Handbook, available from Amazon or any good high street bookstore. These contain a wealth of information for anyone wanting to achieve publication, not only in the UK but overseas as well.
Good luck and I wish you all the best with your writing, I can tell you from my personal experiences that it is an incredibly satisfying vocation!
🙂
PS: If you would like any private tutoring, please let me know, I’d be happy to assist you.

what is the average length of all those 6 million posts? in cm or inches, doesn’t matter.
and also how many words there is in an average 9gag post?
That all depends on what type of post you are making…
If it’s blog post, see below…
Celebrity Gossip, Web News and Gadget blogs tend to post short articles. However, don’t forget that these blogs are known to post multiple times per day and I know one of them publishes more than 20 posts, daily. Sites in industries like Marketing, Finance and Personal Development post less (1-7 times per week) but write much longer articles. [I post this info because these blogs are related to the 9gag site you are referring to]

I want to get a book for father’s day, and figured it’d be about as good a idea as any, specifically because he’s uncertain about diversifying his portfolio.
If it’s about diversifying his portfolio and understanding risk better, then Swensen’s "Unconventional Success" is a very good and readable book. Swensen heads the Yale endowment fund and has a very good reputation and insights into personal investing as well. Check out the summary on Amazon.
I would advise against a bond book, because every one i is either very quantitative or boring or both. The best place to learn about bond basics is actually online. But that’s not much of a father’s day present.
For a popular and exciting book in finance circles that’s very readable as well (kind of rare), check out "Black Swan" by Taleb. It talks about those rare unseen risk events that shocks finance systems.
Check those two out on Amazon. You may find something else within those summaries that will point you to a better book suited to your father’s tastes. Good luck.

I am a college student that had poor money management skills early in college. I am in about $9,000 worth of debt from the past 3 years (much is late fees) and the collectors have been calling me. Are there any good steps to take to get me on the road back to debt free? I’ve heard about loan consolidation and stuff but I don’t know if thats just a scam.
For debit consolidation you must have over $10K in debt, some even more.
The best thing to do is call the debtors and make an arrangement with them. Make your payment proposal as much as you can afford monthly.
Good luck, the collectors must call, you do owe them.

I’m getting my bachelors in Accounting right now. I’m planning to get my Masters in Finance from CSU Sacramento. Will I be able to get a job after I get my MBA in Finance as job market is down these days? Any suggestion? Also, I’m thinking about becoming a CPA (Certified Public Accountant). Does anyone have suggestions or personal experiences to share like which path I should take or which courses I should take.
That is alot of questions to address:
1. The job market does seem to be improving a bit in finance right now, and if you are still pursuing your undergrad, you have a few years before you need to worry about a job post MBA – by then hopefully we will be in even better shape.
2. A CPA is a widely respected and broadly valuable certification. However, it is not easy to get, so make sure you like and are confident in accounting. Ultimately, it could never hurt you to get this certification… although you may or may not end up using it in your selected fields.
Here is an interesting article about accounting careers (usually CPA’s): http://online-mba-programs.com/articles/mba-career/accounting-mba-careers

I need to set up a computer program to better manage our finances.
Well I suggest you get a feel for what you want your budget to look like (how are you going to categorize items and the such). No program will do it ALL for you. But you can get an excellent start here :

I have a savings account, but that’s it. I just want to know how to build my credit when no credit card company will give me a card, or a secured card.
I am sorry to hear about your problem. I find it strange that you could not get approved for a secured credit card since you would have deposited your own money to be used as collateral. There may be a reason why they declined you that is not typical of other secured credit card companies. You might want to try again. My personal advice to you is that you start studying personal finance. Read financial blogs or go to your local book store.
One tip I can give you is once you do get a credit card use only that one for a minimum of six months to a year before applying for anything else. Multiple credit inquiries lower your overall credit score because it is perceived in the eyes of the credit bureaus that you are in serious need of money and are a credit risk.
You are no different than any other young person. It is usually a challenge to get your first credit card. Once you get your first credit card and start paying on time you start to build good credit. Good credit will help you get car loans and a home mortgage at a low interest rate. Good Luck
