The article obsesses on critics who objected to some off color comments made by Franken (comedian turned politician) 8 to 10 yrs ago, making it look like Reps are just humorless.
"Republicans have also hammered Franken for months on some of the more outrageous comments and writing from his years as a comedian, AS WELL AS PROBLEMS WITH HIS PERSONAL FINANCES."
You want to know what those "personal finances" problems are?
Franken failed to pay $70,000 in back taxes in 17 states!!!
He also ended up getting slapped with a $25,000 fine for failing to pay into the workman’s comp fund (irony for the friend of the working man, right?).

Tonalc – The critisism of his tax situation WAS one of the things his critics said about him! For them to obsess on the critisims that were weak & refer to the biggest, most valid critisism of failure to may taxes as "personal finances" is clearly bias!

Orzoff – Yes – Fox News & radio talk shows are biased to the right. Every other media outlet is biased to the left. The liberal bias outweighs the conservative bias. People need to dp their own research to get the whole story.

A.P. used to be a good news outlet. Now A.P. is "Activist Propaganda".
They don’t report facts, they make them up. In my opinion liberal media outlets are printing what they wish they could hear. They want to try to change the minds of voters.
Example of liberal media:
In September 2006, one story (Associated Press) says the town relaxes a new law on illegal aliens, and another story (Reuters) says the town strengthens the same law . An independent source says the mayor of the city said the law were made stronger.

The article was focusing on how he won in spite of things that he had SAID, so exploring his financial problems would have been a completely different article.
He paid his taxes; they were allocated incorrectly to those states. He actually wound up overpaying in several states.

Most of the time when I hear of a politician having their finger in the cookie jar, or having a tryst with a boy page, it hardly ever mentions party affiliation. I have to find that out on my own.
Usually, it seems, the above are mostly republicans.
Moral of the story:

The media has a role to play. It is supposed to report the new and the facts of events. The problem is, the medis is made up fo human beings. By nature, humans have ideas and opinions. For whatever reason, the medis seems to be predominatly liberal in nature. Therefore you have a liberal bias in the media. It is what it is. Just recognize it for what it is and learn to do your own research, as most medis types, although they may know both sides of a story, tend to tell the one that agrees with their ideas.

You may be right in that more stations, networks, newspapers, are biased towards the left overall. However, I would submit to you that most of these left-leaning news providers are only slightly biased or very subtly biased with the one exception of Air America. On the other hand, Fox News and most conservative radio shows are extremely slanted to the right and blatent about it. Therefore, eben though there may be more liberal-leaning new providors out there, the degree to which they slant to the left is not even close to the degree to which Fox News and Conservative radio Shows slant to the right. Further, I would submit that the conservative news providers have a much more persuasive effect on the general public at the end of the day.

The Liberal bias in the media is nothing new.
Night after night all I heard about was the Winter Soldier Hearings from Iraq War vets, now it’s around the clock coverage of cases where John McCain changed his position to appear more Conservative.
Why don’t we ever hear about Reverund Wright, Obama’s pastor for 20 years, quite possibly the most important issue of the year? Not in the Liberal media, instead all we hear is about Hagee and Parsley and lobbyists that worked for Myanmar and Swiss banks now working on McCain’s campaign.
The Liberal Media never mentioned that John Kerry was a "flip-flopper" in 2004, and why did they always doubt and question President Bush’s facts about WMDs in Iraq?
