First you need to do fundamental analysis of stocks. This can be done by looking at Sales growth of a company and EPS growth of a company. You must compare sales growth&EPS growth of a company on quarterly basis, year on year basis and Trailing twelve month basis. Next point you must see the debt to equity ratio of the company. Then you should see P/E value and PEG value of the stock. These information you will get in http://www.moneycontrol.com.

Once you are satisfied you must start technical analysis by looking at the RSI value of the stock, MACD cross overs and the various stock charting patterns. The details you can get in stockchart.com.

After this you should do paper trading for a month.
