Did you know the White House is asking us to report those who oppose ObamaCare?

September 2nd, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

It’s true. Here’s the text from a blog up right now on the white house website.

Scary chain emails and videos are starting to percolate on the internet, breathlessly claiming, for example, to "uncover" the truth about the President’s health insurance reform positions.

In this video, Linda Douglass, the communications director for the White House’s Health Reform Office, addresses one example that makes it look like the President intends to "eliminate" private coverage, when the reality couldn’t be further from the truth.

For the record, the President has consistently said that if you like your insurance plan, your doctor, or both, you will be able to keep them. He has even proposed eight consumer protections relating specifically to the health insurance industry.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

So will you be a good little Communist and report your fellow citizens for being evil dissenters?

In case you don’t believe me, here’s a link.

    That’s not what it says.

It says if the email, web site or whatever seems fishy (as in an outright lie) to report it.

Damn, some people only see what they want to.

Why wouldn’t you want to report or help to correct lies and disinformation?

Seems like a good idea to me. Fight fire with fire.

He had a big pow wow with bloggers and certain media outlets and Democrat members of Congress telling them to get out there and pound down the critics. I am paraphrasing of course, but you get the gest of it.
That website is gonna crash for sure, then what follow up are they going to do? Show up and arrest everybody.

How is there anything remotely wrong with this?
The White House are asking supporters to send examples of misinformation so that they may address it.
Why would anyone be concerned about a government wanting to address the lies being told about thier policies?
Or do you prefer an electorate that is kept ignorant?

The 2003 Obama is saying that Obama wants Single-Payer Universal Healthcare.

“I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.”
    –Barack Obama 2003

    http://www.breitbart.tv/obama-in-03-id-like-to-see-a-single-payer-health-care-plan/

This flies in the face of the 2009 Obama who is saying that he opposes putting insurance out of business and supports the free market. In fact, 2009 Obama is asking people to report anyone who says otherwise to his office.

"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. I think we should report 2003 Obama to flag@whitehouse.gov immediately.

I will give him my address and phone number, I will walk up and tell him he is wrong. I am not afraid of the "men" of our government, because I know he is a pansy ass, and the first amendment is still there to protect anything I say!

I will be a martyr for liberty and freedom, and stand up to tyranny and oppression. I will spit in Obama’s eye, and explain to him why it will never work and why it shouldn’t be done.

I flagged myself, gave my name, number, and address.

You’re making it sound like they want people to "report it" as in the way people report a crime, or report it like they want to use censorship to get rid of the supposed information at the reported sites.

I don’t believe that is the case… I think they just want to know what the opposing information is so that they can confront it with WORDS and information, like a debate.

I swear I get so sick of people making the opposition look demonic, like they’re trying to squash your freedom and your rights. It’s so stupid, like you all want to be martyrs.

Linda Douglass’ statement could be taken two ways.

you’ve obviously chosen to believe the more nefarious interpretation.

it could also be taken to mean that they simply need to know what they’re being accused of in these chain emails so they can more effectively tailor their public response to address any legitimate issues raised.

you could be right. maybe the obama adminstration is on the verge of sending troops out to start rounding up every american who disagrees with them… but somehow i doubt it.
