Books: Whats the difference between day trading, e trading, and investing in the stock market?
So that I know which of these books to get to learn the basics
Investing usually refers to long term investments. Daytrading is when you don’t hold stocks over night, you’re in and out in the same day for the most part. E Trading is just electronic trading so it’s when you do it yourself rather than having a portfolio with a broker.
It’s really a rough time to get into the market on your own right now. Ten years ago you couldn’t go wrong but these days you need much more capital to make a profit. I’ve been daytrading for ten years and you have to aknowledge to yourself that all it is is gambling. And you don’t gamble with money you can’t afford to lose. I had an unexpected $10,000 bonus in ’97 that I opened an account with and have done well but I’m telling you, you would have a hard time making money with a small investment like that these days.
good luck
