What are the biggest country markets for money management – and how much money is their to invest in each country?

The US is the biggest market, by far, and Japan is second, but it’s a difficult market because of structural and legal restrictions. Next are the European majors, though the percentage of individual investors is lower (government and corporate funds are more prevalent). My analysis was done about 15 years ago, but I think the rankings are about the same now.
