Money Management?
What is the best way to manage your money, pay off your bills, and save money at the same time? Tips
Well the simplistic way to put it is to increase income, decrease expenditures, or both at the same time. Try cutting down on buying things or going out when you could sacrifice and save some of that money for either bills or putting it into a savings account. Know where your money is going every month. Write out all your income and all your "outgo" (expenditures) and see if you have more income than outgo. If you do…great!!! If you don’t…you need to either increase income by getting another job or a different job. You should also decrease outgo. Try smart investing as well…like low risk stocks, cd’s, bonds, etc. Become money smart. For Dummies books in the business section at Barnes & Noble are great for this! Hope I helped even just a little.
Never pay with credit. Credit cards (unless you are disciplined enough to pay them off in full every month) will ruin you.
From every paycheck, pay yourself first. Put ‘x’ dollars into the savings account. Then pay your bills (mortgage, auto, insurance, taxes, utilities, etc) and your expenses (food, cable, newspaper, trash collection, etc). Finally, anything left over can be for entertainment.

The best way to manage money and payoff bills is simple. I counsel my clients on the subject and have posted this many times on here.
I recommend you pay your bills on a bi-weekly basis. Just by taking the minimum payment and splitting it into 2 payments. Send the first payment in once the bill is received and then 2 weeks later send the other payment in. This cuts down on the interest that is accrued on a 28 day cycle which most credit cards are based on.
To save money at the same time take a piece of paper and draw a triangle on it. On the left hand corner starting at the base write $10. Then working your way up double the amounts, for example, $20, $40, $80, $160, $320. Say that $320 is the most you can afford to save and that it is at the top of your pyramid. Then working down the right side you work backwards $320,$160,$80,$40,20, $10. You keep doing this and in 3 months you can save up $1,500 or more. This style of saving is good if you get paid on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. It doesn’t work for monthly pay periods.
You never want to leave yourself short. When I did this savings plan I made it a priority when I reached a certain amount in my bank account that I would invest x amount of dollars in the stock market or fund.

I am in the mortgage industry over 5 years and counsel my clients on this program.
Please consider the following:
1) Create a written monthly budget
2) Track your spending and compare to budget
3) Get $1,000 in the bank for emergencies (so you stop using credit cards)
4) List your debt smallest to largest balance and attack the smallest debt.
5) Sell stuff
6) Work extra jobs

Hey, this is a GREAT Question! Lot’s of people need help with this. I would suggest that you take a look at Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey, or Financial Peace by same author. You have to set up a budget and remember that your income is your best tool for handling life’s money matters. He has a good website at: daveramsey.com More people should be like you rather than trying to use this site to get around credit bureau reporting rules. I love the guys marketing statement that "we give you the same advice that your grandmother would give you but we have all our teeth." LOL
